APSC Recruitment 2013 for Medical & Health Officers and Assistant Professors

APSC is going to conduct a recruitment process for engagement of Medical and Health Officers under Health & Family Welfare Department and Assistant Professors in Cotton College, Guwahati & Haflong Govt. College, Haflong under Higher Education Department. The Assam Public Service Commission will appoint 450 number of Medical and Health Officers and total 60 numbers of Assistant Professors through this recruitment. This would be, indeed, a really good news for the MBBS and Ph.D or NET/SLET holder.

Name of the Position : Medical &Health Officer-1 under Health & Family Welfare Department

Number of Post : 450

Reservation : Open Category- 229 (69 for women), OBC/MOBC- 121 (36 for women), SC- 32 (10 for women), ST(P)- 45(13 for women), ST(H)- 23 (7 for women)

Scale of Pay : Rs. 12,000-40,000/- with Grade Pay Rs. 5,400/- along with other allowance as per rule. In addition to this, there is a payment of Rs. 4,000/- per month for doctors serving in rural areas.

Qualification

• Candidates who have completed MBBS and have registration under Assam Medical Council, 1960 are eligible to apply for the post.
• The prescribed age limit for the above post is 21 years to 38 years as counted on 1^st January, 2013.

Educational Qualifications for the professors posts

• The candidates should have good academic performance obtaining minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade at the Master's Degree level in the pertinent subjects from a recognized Indian University or accredited foreign University.
• Apart from the above mentioned qualification, applicant must have NET, SLET or any other equivalent examination accredited by University Grant Commission.
• Ph.D holder can apply without having NET or SLET or SET type examination.
• NET/SLET etc will not be considered for Masters Degree progammes for which if there is no any such type of examinations.

Candidates can also download it from the commission's website www.apsc.nic.in. The candidates who are employed, they have to submit a treasury challan of Rs. 5/- (for SC and ST Rs. 2.50/-) as application fee, other candidates need not pay the application fee. The last date of issue of application form and submission of completed application form is 10^th October, 2013.

Selection Procedure

Considering the numbers of application form received, APSC may conduct a screening test or may be shortlist candidates on the basis of performance in the qualifying examinations. In case of the first one, the details of the examination such as date, time etc will be notified to the candidates.
